Ric Rac Dress

I have been dying to try this tutorial from Craftiness is Not an Option for a while, and when I opened my birthday present from my mom to find 6 yards of ric rac, I knew this was the perfect opportunity! Yes, my birthday is still 3 days away, but I have never been good at waiting for surprises. After checking out all the colors she sent me, I found a perfect match in a yard of Moda City Weekend by Oliver + S that I have been saving for the perfect dress for Sora. 1 yard of ric rac and 1 yard of fabric was exactly enough to make this dress for Sora in a 2T.

I love the ric rac detail, and I haven't made pleats on a dress for Sora yet. It's adorable and she seems to have overlooked the fact that it doesn't have pockets and is still happily wearing it. Not that Sora needs another summer dress but it's adorable!

My crafting has been dwindling as we prepare for an 8 week vacation, so I'm sure that I will have a long blog break while I'm off exploring the world, but I will be able to sneak in some craftiness before hand and I'm sure there will be a lot to share when we get back!
