About Me

I am having a hard time defining myself lately, but here goes:

I am a wife, a mother, and a passionate environmental educator at heart. I am currently retired, living my dream of being a stay at home mom. This is a lot harder than I had imagined, but it's a lot better too. Sora fills my every moment with entertainment, excitement, worry, and overall fun.

I am a crafter. I come from a very talented family of hard working creative women who understate their amazingness. My grandma taught me how to sew when I was nine, and taught me how to knit when I was 21. I fell in like with sewing when I was gifted a sewing machine by my grandma in 2006, and fell in love when I found out I was pregnant in 2008. I have learned so much in the past two years and want to share my passion with others. My daughter is my biggest inspiration, so most of my crafting is focused on toddler related items.

I am a nature lover. I am fortunate to live at a residential camp, as my husband runs the environmental program. Sora and I get to explore nature every day. She loves being outside and I love seeing the world through her eyes. She can spend more time playing with a birch tree bark than with just about any toy we have in our house!

I am a displaced Seattlite, living in the mid west. It has been quite the adjustment! To be fair, we only lived in Seattle for 5 years. We lived in Southern California, a mecca for environmental education, for 3 years before that, and I grew up in a small town in Washington. Over the past 5 years though, my husband and I fell in love with the city life and all that Seattle had to offer. It was the right decision to leave, but I am still struggling to find my place in Wisconsin. Sora and I are treating each day as a new adventure, whether we stay at camp or explore some tiny nearby town.

I am funny, but very humble.  I am silly, but quiet.   I am Maleah, another woman set out to conquer the world, one craft at a time. I have lofty goals and homemade intentions, but I know that sometimes life will get in the way.
